Whether you use the office equipment at your place of employment or if you rent it, this is something that you will need to buy for yourself as well as for anyone who might use it. Even if you’re on a tight budget, this is one of the most important things you need to work from home.

A telephone – Now, whether you use a landline or a cell phone, you will need a telephone. Depending on where you work, you may even need to bring your cell phone in from the car. The number of landlines that people use in their homes is dwindling quickly, so the number of home office equipment and telephone landlines you need will be higher. In addition, if you have a home office, you’ll want to consider renting a telephone for yourself as well.

In order to send and receive an email, you need to have an internet connection. It may be free at your place of employment, but if not, you’ll be spending money. Be sure that you keep the bill in writing so you know exactly what you are spending each month.

An effective printer – Last, you need to have an effective printer in your home. You don’t want to wait until you run out of ink to print documents. Also, you need to make sure that you keep the maintenance to a minimum. If you do it wrong, by the time you realize it, the damage has been done.
