Will Work From Home Ever Rule the World?
How many of us think about the future of work from home? One thing for sure, if not now, soon the answer will be yes. The way it will happen though will diverge from the way it happened in the past. It will be a change that will be more drastic than what we have seen in the past.
One of the biggest changes will come from how companies will treat freelance writers and web content providers. These will be the same workers that will have been seen on corporate websites for years but will now work remotely from their home offices. This will create a huge stigma around these types of freelance work.
How a writer or web content provider will work from home will not be like the office. There will still be someone to pay them for their work, but it will pay them by the hour instead of the salary that has been traditional in the industry. The only difference will be that they will work off site from home. The stigma will not be nearly as big, though.
The other big change will be with how businesses will treat freelance workers. These will be the type of workers who will offer their services online and will not require a contract to work with them. The companies will simply give them whatever they need to do the job, and they will complete the job with perfection. In the past, this has not always been the case. Many times, these individuals will have been on contracts that dictate how much they will make and this will continue.
Many people will wonder if this will affect the Internet as a whole. Well, not directly, but indirectly. If a business will get away with it, then they will. Right now they will not because of the penalties that have been levied on them. This will not stop people from working online, however. It will just mean that those people will work for lower wages.
Some will say that they will not work with other people from home because of what will happen if they get caught. They will say that what will happen if they are caught will be a fine and they will go to jail. That will not happen though. First, those who are engaged in internet fraud will go to jail while the small individual who is working will not. This will only happen if there is an investigation, though. The person cannot work under any circumstances if he or she gets caught.
So will you work from home ever rule the world? Not likely. However, you will have a lot of freedom and flexibility when working online. You will be your own boss and will be responsible for your actions. You will be the only one that will make your own decisions regarding working and not the boss.
People will still need to have their homes to live in and will always have jobs to do. However, they will not have them at home. This will have a good thing or a bad thing. On one hand, people will be free to pursue their dreams that will include working from home. On the other hand, this will make it harder to have the luxuries that you have at home like having a television in the living room. However, if you are creative enough, you will make this work for you.
